Ripley’s Sugar Shack

Neil Ripley has been in the maple business his entire life. Before he was
born, Ripley’s Sugar Camp in Fenwick, NS was owned and operated by his
grandfather and then his father. Now, Neil has been collecting sap and making syrup for the past 51 years.

Neil and his wife Linda tap 16,000 trees and produce 1,000 gallons of syrup in a good year.  They produce maple syrup, maple butter, and maple cream. They welcome thousands of visitors from around the world over the course of the approximately six week sugar season, which typically runs from the end of February through the end of April.

Stop by the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market on Saturdays and visit the
Ripley’s table. If you’d like to visit Neil, Linda and their family at their sugar

  1. A fun and delicious weekend activity

Our favourite destination for maple-y goodness, every year! We love the beautiful walk into the camp and chatting with the always friendly Ripleys.

  2. Maple syrup

We have visiting the Ripleys for 12 years now. There is no better maple syrup around. It’s worth the trip.
